The challenge

Swiss Post Digital’s BärnHäckt challenge asked teams to explain its e-voting system through a mini-game. The goal was to make secure, private voting easier to understand through an interactive experience.

From 21 to 23 August 2026, our team had 48 hours to turn that challenge into a playable project. We met at the event and formed World of VoteCraft.

The game

Brunos Code-Abenteuer is a browser-based learning game in which players follow Bruno through a pixel adventure. The experience introduces the verification steps of Swiss e-voting through play, giving a complex security topic a story and an interactive format.

It is an educational game about the voting process, not a system for casting real votes.

My contribution & learning

I helped develop the game with my team during the hackathon. The project brought together rapid prototyping, game development and communication: we had to turn an unfamiliar process into something players could follow within a short development window.

This was my first hackathon. Working with teammates I had just met showed me how quickly an idea could become a playable experience through practical collaboration and iteration.

Outcome & team

Our team won the People’s Choice Award at BärnHäckt 2026. The award was a team achievement, recognizing the game we built together.
